Our History

When the Tramel family settled in southern Louisiana in the 1800s, far from their Irish home, they planted roots so deep they have flourished well over a century. Six generations later, T&H Farms has evolved from a timber and open range cattle farm to the outstanding Hereford operation it is today. With four generations currently living on the farm, we are truly a family business. From grandmother to granddaughter, and the 81 years in between, each family member takes pride in producing top-quality Hereford cattle day in, day out.

"On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you." —John 14:20

Our Story

While the Tramel family settled the farm, it didn’t become T&H Farms until 1961 when Herman Ray Hill married Dorothy Sue Tramel. Developing the herd into a registered Hereford operation came along about that time as well, and we are proud of what our family has created: southern born and southern bred Hereford cattle that are true to the breed and produce quality yields even in the heat and humidity of southern Louisiana. With the T&H legacy spanning generations, we take pride in our commitment to excellence, sustainability, and animal welfare.
